Hard to believe ten years have passed since Redmond Town Center opened its doors. I can remember when there was a lot of “fighting”, discussion, and planning for the Center going on. Do you remember when it was first planned as a closed mall like Bellevue Square? Do you remember one of the flagship stores was to be Frederick & Nelson, an old time department store which is now defunct?
Change at Redmond Town Center is going on. Seven stores have just moved out after fulfilling their leases, among them Abercrombie and Fitch, The Limited, and its partner store, The Express. The big one moving out is Cineplex Odeon.
The above story from KOMO-TV news mentions there are 110 stores in the center, something I did not know. There are great restaurants, Spazzos, Claim Jumper, Desert Fire, Thai Ginger, and many others. Great shopping still exists with likes of Macy’s, REI, and Eddie Bauer.
Let’s hope the Town Center owners add other great shops and restaurants to keep a vibrant mix.
